Upper Management 101

How is it then, we employees who do the most are given even more to do whilst our lazy, goof-off, coworkers simply plod along, playing on their computers, doing minimal work, getting paid as much or MORE than the rest of us?  Ever find yourself in that position?  It happens to me everyday.

    S. Le–
Not an uncommon situation. Trick is to work efficiently and out run ’em. I’ve done it many times, and I’m doing it now. Keep in mind that the world is run by C students.

Another handy tool if you’re inundated with emails that have nothing to do with your job is to set up an automatic response, copy to all, with the message, “Got the email, thanks.” It slows the email-mongers down a tad, because they still have to read your non-essential response to their non-essential email while you do something more productive.

Think of it this way… you make ’em drive on a gravel road while you’re still on the asphalt.

James– That insight gets you off probation (previously awarded). Meddle Managers is the correct term, though.

I faced that every day when I worked. I think it is inevitable.
